Provided that the structure of this file is not changed and the reported data fulfills all requirements it will be possible for institutions to send the reports in the format of an Excel template in the future (at least the first submission of 2017) and the XBRL format is not mandatory at this point of time?


Response


For the current exercise, institutions should report an Excel-file based on the version published on the SRB website. This file has limited protections in place to safeguard its integrity and allow for conversion into XBRL by the NRA/SRB. From 2018 onwards the SRM would generally expect entities to be able to report in XBRL format.
